Lark is the newest addition to our program and a future detection prospect, representing the next step in the development of our water leak detection team. While he is just beginning his journey, he brings with him all the pieces we look for in a working dog.

From the start, Lark has stood out for his boldness, confidence, and natural curiosity. He moves through the world with an ease that suggests a strong environmental foundation, paired with an eagerness to engage and explore. He is thoughtful without being hesitant, and independent without losing connection — qualities that are invaluable as we begin shaping a future detection dog.

Lark comes from an exceptionally strong pedigree of NAVHDA dogs, including multiple Versatile Champions and Utility Prize earners. That lineage reflects generations of dogs selected for drive, resilience, and versatility, and provides a powerful foundation for the work ahead.

As he develops, Lark will be trained to work alongside Kieran as part of our detection team. Building a second dog is an important step in creating a sustainable and effective program, allowing us to meet the demands of the work across longer days, larger projects, and more complex environments. Right now, it’s all about building the right foundation: Confidence, clarity, and a genuine love for the work. The rest will come with time.
